I've tried several digital camcorders to find the best way to go straight to DVD without tape. Samsung Miniket SCM105S is far from the best. Photography is limited to 1.2 megapixels. (Xacti 3.2, 4 and 5) With the available formats you can't (perhaps) record the highest quality MPEG files on an external Memory Stick Pro. Camera received yesterday, returned today. This is my first digital video camera, the previous one was VHS-C. I digitized all my old VHS tapes and burned them to DVD and the quality is ok. The MPEG4 quality of this camera is lower and I expected better. Even with the highest quality settings, the video quality still leaves a lot to be desired.
