Great picture, terrible UI

OK . First, my use case might be a little different than most. I will say that the picture is excellent and I like the equipment. To me, the user interface is incredibly consumer-unfriendly. Samsung's approach to smart TVs seems misguided. I want the TV to connect to my WiFi, but I don't have internet. Wi-Fi requires the TV to connect to a Samsung service for Wi-Fi to work. So no wifi without internet. When I connect it to the internet it defaults to Samsung TV Plus whether I like it or not. I…

i still hate it PLEASE bring back STUPID TVS!

I'm not a Luddite. I have an iphone, ipad, macbook pro etc etc etc but I hate spending a lot of time setting up, figuring out and creating another cyber account to watch a few TV shows! I ask you: IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY? WHERE DO WE COME? Good picture, but awkward "smart " features.

I like the look of the TV but damn I wish all this clever stuff wouldn't stop me from showing things on it anymore. You plug in a new HDMI device and it freezes the display to see what's on it. is. If it can't detect it, it just stays on its detection screen until you pick up the remote and tell it to stop, and then you can finally see the video the device is putting out.
