The design is ok - when inserting water, you need to make sure that the silicone top is tightly secure. But almost always, water seems to leak from the sides if you tip it slightly off-level due to the soft nature of the silicone. I think it would have been better if the edges were made of plastic instead of silicone, so that it'll securely snap the lid closed like the tupperware design while the top part of the mold is silicone for easy removal. I enjoy this ice ball maker. I have a ice maker in my fridge but the giant ice balls are really cool, heh heh. But yes, it does a good job at making a sphere. It isn't perfect, or maybe I should try a different water. But for the most part it is a sphere. Have been using it for a few weeks now and it works great. Easy to fill, easy to get out once frozen, and a great size for a tumbler of bourbon.

I love the size of these ice balls. Filling the tray is very easy using the hole in the top of the ball. It is sometimes a little bit hard to get the ice out of the silicone mold but definitely not impossible.

Cool product, the plastic and rubber are high quality, they feel nice and seem that will last a lifetime. Only issue, I cannot get the ice spheres transparent as they advertise. I read all about it, apparently a chunk this size will freeze from outside pushing micro-air bubbles towards the center. If anyone managed to get them clear would love to learn how.

The photos shown in this listing are idealized for the sole purpose of selling the mold. Your cubes won’t be clear and they won’t be seamlessly round. Perfectly clear cubes require a fair amount of work involving a small cooler and 24 hours of freezing. But if your main goal is simply to get a big cube then this is for you, and big cubes will definitely change your cocktail game. Just keep your expectations in line and drink up.

bought these because they looked like a cool idea.they do work, but suggest running warm water over to loosen them before you pop them out into a bowl - I used a small funnel to fill each one, and place the tray on a tray to put in the freezer (otherwise water can come out as you are walking to the freezer!) not bad, for the price.
