Unfortunately, SanDisk saves Sony software

The USB cable from a Sony camera with a proprietary memory stick to the computer stopped working. I've downloaded various drivers, a weird bunch of nerdy software that was wasting me many miserable hours of my time, calls to Sony support and all that. Got a new cable with random results. Bought a universal card reader and got intermittent results again. Bought this Sandisk and everything works great every time. That was on a Mac, and I suspect Sony is just as outraged as everyone else. If you…

Does what it's supposed to do, great

What can you say about a product like this other than it's very beautiful, streamlined and does exactly what it's supposed to do when plugged into a USB port with a charged memory connects . It allows you to transfer files from your memory card to your computer. Ideal. Genius. Just make sure you buy the right reader for the storage you're using. This applies to Memory Stick Pro Duo and Memory Stick Duo cards used in some cameras such as the Sony Webbie. You cannot use this reader to read…

Small and works! A worry.

Not much to say about this other than it's small, but not too small. these multi readers. I needed something reliable so I gave it a try. It worked every time I used it. Pros: It works. Easy to use. "Protection from idiocy". Cons: The wide side can be difficult to fit in some laptops when the USB port is near the power cord or other USB ports. I have 3 USBs on my laptop and can't use them next to the one my printer is connected to - not enough space. I didn't deduct a star because I can still…

Working but usability varies

Suitable for Memory Stick Duo access. However, your mileage may vary depending on the system used. The adapter worked well for me on: * Dell laptop running Windows XP * 13 inch Macbook 2009 model with OS X 10.7 Lion * Acer laptop running Windows 8 pre-release Windows 7 - Not recognized as a removable storage device and not as a drive connected to use.* Nexus 7 Android 4.1 with USB OTG cable and dedicated software (Nexus Photo Viewer) - Usable drive found but not all photos on card shown/loaded…

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion computer with Windows 10 and it didn't have a slot for my memory card huh I use it in my Sony digital camera. I bought my camera about 10 years ago and it still works and records better than my iPhone. This is a Sony DSC-H2O with 10x digital zoom. My camera uses a 4GB Sandisk Pro Duo memory card. I bought this adapter and while it doesn't fit in the USB port under my screen, it does fit in the USB port on the back of the monitor. (My monitor is the type with…

Stopped working after four months

I bought this reader because the connector that came with my Sony DSC-H50 suddenly stopped working. At first this little guy worked great. He did exactly what he was supposed to do, no problem. In fact, I prefer the old connection cable that preceded it. But now that I've been using it for about four months, I'm nowhere near as satisfied. After about the first month I had trouble getting my computer to recognize the reader, but this was usually fixed by switching USB ports or reinserting the…

Does what I needed in a card reader

I received the reader 11 days after ordering and it worked right out of the box. There are no problems with that yet. I have this because connecting my camera to my computer to transfer photos seems to drain the camera's battery badly. As you can see from the picture, the device is wider than a regular USB port, so parallel USB ports are blocked. However, a short USB extension cable should fix this if that's the problem. I noticed that several people said their readers failed after a short…

A must if you plan to live in Sony World!

You are probably reading this review because you own more than one Sony electronic product that uses Memory Stick Pro Duos and are looking for a more portable and simpler setup than the one you are currently using. :) As for me personally, I have a PS3, PSP, player and digital camera Sony DSC-T200. They all use PRO DUO (2GB - 8GB) and I needed something that would allow me to access those multiple memory cards without all the hassle of connecting the cable, turning on the Sony device and…
