There is a design issue with the seating of the cards

As many others have reported the cards are so tight that it looks like the card will be damaged and it is almost impossible to pull the card out. In my Sony UHS II reader (which reads my AngelBird cards at over 250MB/s), I only got 90MB/s read speeds from SanDisk Extreme Pro 170MB/s SDXC cards. I contacted SanDisk and they said I need this reader. I got 165MB/s with this reader, but I almost couldn't get the card out. I just called SanDisk support and they said this is the only reader that…

Bugger to get SD cards in and out of reader!

Bought to install on my desktop and be able to insert the card to read and then just take it out. Impossible! Inserting an SD card into this reader requires both hands and your full attention. Very difficult to glue. There is no latch or latch lock. It is very difficult to get the card out. Need SD card pliers to get them out! It's small, compact and fast, so performance is good. It's just terrible to work with him.

Doesn't work with bundled card

Like many others, I've found that the form factor isn't as compatible with SD cards as I'd like, but that's not a problem. I recently purchased a SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I 64GB - C10 U3 V30 4K UHD SD Card - SDSDXXY-064G-GN4IN from Revain that came with this 'supported' SanDisk SD Reader became. I never managed to get this map to work. When connected to a computer, it detects the presence of a card reader (it also detects that the device is working properly). Inserting an SD card never…

Death's vise grip!

The SD card provided by Sandisk was so tight I googled it just to make sure I was doing it right and pretty sure I was right. It wasn't smooth and I just prayed it didn't destroy my SD card in the process. It was fine and the data transferred fine, but when I was done I used my teeth to pry the card out because it was very tight. Couldn't believe it. It might loosen up over time, but for the price you can get literally ANY other SD card reader that doesn't make you feel like you're going to…

Perfect SD card reader

I haven't had any problems inserting an SD card into this reader that others have reported about. It takes a bit of effort, but nothing that leads me to believe the card will be bent/damaged. The reason I need this is because of the write protect switch on all SD cards. This allows me to use it on any computer without worrying about viruses getting onto the card. My micro SD card is from PNY and works great. It was introduced into the Surface Pro before the reader. The read/write speeds are…

Read Only Computers & Accessories

I bought this because I have two new Sandisk Extreme Pro 170MB/s cards. Sandisk says you have to have this card reader for these cards if you want this kind of speed. I only get 30MB/s on both cards. Like other cards I have, all Sandisk Extreme cards. This device is read-only. You cannot transfer data from a computer to the card. only from the card to the computer. Inside the reader is a pull tab (visible with a flashlight) that locks the card so you cannot write to or format it with this…

Terrible card reader; too small for Sandisk SD cards

I only use Sandisk SD cards and have never had any problems with them. So far it has been like this. I just bought a Surface Book 2 laptop with a built in SD reader. but I wanted to use it to store a permanent microSD card and use this adapter to transfer content to it. The price is great. The design is great (no extra large USB cable and hub. No multi-card reader. Just a regular SD reader with a USB slot on the other end). Unfortunately, the card slot is incredibly small. Even with my Sandisk…
