This mount is adjustable to a degree. You mount the wall mount on a wall that should be no more than 16 1/2 inches high at the center. You then have a horizontal adjustment of about 13 inches between these two studs midway between the two studs. If you want the center of your TV to be within 1 1/2 inches of the stand you are mounting this wall mount to, you will need a different mount.
