I bought this DVD player with low expectations. It was significantly cheaper than "famous brands" players. I was surprised by the performance. Setup was easy, as is the case with most players. Load times are faster than some of the more expensive Blu-ray DVD players I've had. It has a voice telling you what the player is doing and the picture is awesome. This is a great player for the price, not the best but I give it 5 stars for its ability to play PAL Video DVDs, Region 0 (ALL). It also plays some of my Region 2 DVDs, but not many, just a few. It has an excellent PALNTSC converter. I don't notice any halos. Upconversion is generally excellent, but not all drives are acceptable. I've had to replace some DVDs with their Blu-ray counterparts to make them viewable, but that's rare. Unfortunately, this player does not recognize my favorite MP3 CDs
