This is a great player for the price, not the best but I give it 5 stars for its ability to play PAL Video DVDs, Region 0 (ALL). It also plays some of my Region 2 DVDs, but not many, just a few. It has an excellent PALNTSC converter. I don't notice any halos. Upconversion is generally excellent, but not all drives are acceptable. I've had to replace some DVDs with their Blu-ray counterparts to make them viewable, but that's rare. Unfortunately, this player does not recognize my favorite MP3 CDs and DVDs with classic radio programs. Disappointing. I used this player for 4K. and some other screenshots for my Revain reviews. It crashed twice during an extensive HDR image search, so had to be turned off. That's the only problem so far. Everything else was flawless. I don't care about the annoying pause icon (II) that appears at the bottom of the screen, it doesn't seem to have expired. There are no image quality settings like other players, another annoyance. Playback is very quiet, noise was never a problem. FUNAI makes this model and the PHILIPS BDP 5502, they are virtual twins, but the 5502 has more audio outputs. I don't know. I haven't tried streaming anything with this player, I don't need it. The remote control is about the size of a toy, about 4 inches long. The buttons require a moderate amount of force to press. The drive tray is dim and the red power light is a bit bright. I put a translucent sticker on mine and I can still see it! I bought mine at my local WalMart, they have a lot of them and they sell them at a good price. Folk players, 4K for the masses? It's amazing what advertising can do. who do you know. * I want to say to ALL Blu-ray Disc Player manufacturers - THE TIME FOR REGION CODING IS OVER! Yes we went from DVD regions to 3 for Blu-ray and now NONE for 4K Blu-ray! MAKE THIS A REWARD! Each player must be MULTIREGIONAL or at least an OEM option. All profits are taken, now is the time, CHOICE! Give consumers what we want, it's foolish to limit our players' innate abilities.
