Just received this after returning a similar HyperDrive USB-C hub. This doesn't seem to have the issue of dropping the Wi-Fi connection. Anyone experiencing this issue should be aware that this is a hub that emits radio frequencies that interfere with 2.4GHz WiFi. If you connect to 5GHz there should be no problem. Even if you're using a hub on the opposite side of your MacBook Pro, this shouldn't be a problem. Again, I don't have that problem with this wonderful product. Will definitely update…

I have a black protective sleeve that needed to be filed slightly on the left side. It should fit snugly against the side of the laptop. So depending on which protective case you have, you may need to ensure that the ENTIRE length of the device fits snugly against the Macbook.
