I don't know how this thing got so much attention, it mostly doesn't work. When I copy data about this to my computer, there is an error. Both USB A and USB C give an error. You cancel the transfer and try again, everything works. So I do not advise you to buy this expensive junk. Take something Chinese that works.

Cheap construction, won't last forever, don't waste your money! I should have paid more attention to the "it doesn't work anymore" reviews. mine died within a few months even with little use. No matter which port I use, USB-C or USB with adapter, my MacBook Pro no longer recognizes a card that I plug in.

I love the lightweight design. It works great right out of the box. I've moved over 300 photos and 50-60 videos and the speed has been fantastic. The "Space Grey" color goes well with the Mac, but is not identical to it. The size is perfect, I can plug my MacBook's power cord right next to the SD card reader. Great product and fast delivery

Bought for its compact size for traveling but I have found that when trying to transfer large or many files it randomly ejects the SD card and gives an error. I tried 3 different cards but it got kicked out and they all failed. It's a cool idea, but unless you're just going to use it to transfer small files, I wouldn't recommend it.

Ordered mid December (2017). It is great! I take it with me everywhere I shoot. I can transfer photos via USB-A to my laptop or USB-C directly to my phone to edit and post directly to social media. It feels pleasant, is not slippery and has a pleasantly textured coating. My only problem is that installing the SD card removes the metal clips on it and the label. See photos. Otherwise it works great, the transmission speed is great.

So I have a 2017 MacBook Pro and a USB-C multiport dongle. However, I found it to be a little awkward when I want to view images from my camera or videos from my GoPro. This is an amazing device as I don't have to worry about it hanging down and it fits in my pocket. The only issue is that it bent a little, but that could be due to many things, including an unforgivable backpack or because I kept it in my bag. But it's much better than a plastic device as it's not strong enough to work.

So I just tested this product on a 2-slot Lexar Pro USB 3.0 Reader using a 64GB San Disk Extreme Pro card. Satechi failed miserably. How much? I transferred 30 GB of Camera Raw photos using both readers. Lexar USB 3.0 took 6:50 to transfer photos. The same 30GB photos were transferred in 13:55 with Satechi's USB 3.0 side. Same card, same data, same computer. The only advantage of Satechi is size and portability, as the Lexar Professional reader is larger and requires a USB cable to connect…
