The Playmaker cannot be mounted on a tripod. You can fake it, but it's the only way. You can try calling them and then they will tell you that it is not designed for Playmaker. They won't let you return when 30 days have passed.

We are avid hikers and spend a lot of time in state parks where there is no cable. Our Dish satellite system worked sporadically. Ever since we put our dish on a tripod, we've been getting a satellite signal every time, even in densely forested state parks.

Cardboard box arrived unsealed with no information sheet. It wobbles when assembling. Had no idea about bungee, metal coil or single bolt. As you've heard from others that the coil screws into the ground, attach a bungee for extra support/stability. I don't understand what the screw is for.
