📦 Sauder Shoal Creek Storage Chest in Soft White Finish: Stylish Organization Solution Review

This was damaged straight out of the box which didn't surprise me as I saw others who looked at it said their car had a crack on arrival. However, it was very easy to assemble, very durable, you can't see the damaged part because it's against the wall, and surprisingly, it contains a lot of toys. For 50€ I would definitely buy it again and can definitely recommend it. I don't think it deserves the bad reviews. Like I said, it's $50, not $500!

I actually bought this to use as a laundry basket and it's perfect. It has a soft lid loop to keep it from slamming. Easy to assemble by yourself, 10 step instructions included. I've read other reviews that mentioned the holes were misaligned, but mine matched perfectly. However, ignore the instruction that says to skip the exercise and use the damn drill! Or it will take you forever to hand tighten 30+ bolts and eccentric bolts like I did lol.

Thing is made of chipboard and weighs ridiculous. The design also makes inefficient use of space. This chest of drawers only holds a double duvet when assembled. We were hoping that this would be a more permanent fix than it actually is. I should also mention that it came in pieces that had chipped off. The assembly was not bad, apart from parts in poor condition. We keep it because shipping costs the same as we paid for it. If you have money to burn then this is a good option. It gets 2 stars…

This chest was relatively easy to put together in about 30-40 minutes with my 2 year old "help". I was able to do it myself up to the very last step when my husband held the lid back to make it easier for me to screw in the final screws. We mainly use it for blankets, it's small but holds more than I expected. It is durable - she can easily climb and sit on it. I measured before buying but somehow it still turned out a little smaller than I was hoping. I think the fact that 1/4 of the height is actually the "legs" down is the main reason it looks so small. It's not difficult to put together, although I broke a nail and you can get blisters from a screwdriver lol. I bought two of these almost a year ago and am very happy with them. They were easy enough to put together (maybe not for a beginner, but still easy and the instructions were awesome) and looked good, like a much more expensive product.
