IMPOSTER SCALPMASTER BRUSH

I have been using the Scalpmaster for over 20 years. This fake brush has firm pins that scratch the head instead of lifting the hair. DO NOT BUY THIS BRUSH if you loved the Scalpmaster.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Seniors

TERRIBLE PRODUCT! HARMFUL TO DOG SKIN

Terrible product! The needle bed is built into a hard pad that doesn't move with the needles, so it scratches the dog's skin with each stroke. This is a painful copy of the original Scalpmaster 125 which was great.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Doesn't work best with styling tools and attachments

This isn't the Scalpmaster from 125 years ago. I have used this on my Old English Sheepdog and she pulls out too much hair. Obviously this is a bad choice for me. Even if I didn't show it, I wouldn't want so many hairs to be pulled out. I used the Scalpmaster on my other dog a few years ago and it was great so of course I went back to it but stopped using it immediately. At that time it was "brush” among all owners of OES. No longer.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Not automatic

I still own and love the original Scalpmaster 125 comb from .

I still use and love the original Scalpmaster 125, made in France. This is NOT the brush. I was a professional barber and I know a good brush - it's a horrible brush with sharp metal tips that will tear your hair and do a lot of damage. If you care about your hair, categorically DO NOT BUY THIS BRUSH! Instead, take the Philips wire brush #11, which replaces the original Scalpmaster brush and is made in France.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Volume

Good but not fantastic

I've had long hair my whole life. When I was a kid we bought dog brushes at the pet store because they didn't make wire brushes for humans and they work best on long hair. This one is pretty good but a bit stiffer than I like. It's really hard to find really good ones these days because for some reason they're not as popular as they were in the 80's and 90's. The best I've ever found was from Europe and must have been discontinued as it can't be found anymore, not even online. I wish I had…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others
