It really worked for tools and gear

This code reader helped me pass my smog check and saved me $$$ the first try. It feels comfortable in the hand, has a logical key layout, a large screen for this price range, a good interface and a reasonable cable length. Codes are read quickly and error code definitions are displayed. You can always transfer screenshots to your computer via the mini USB port, and the YA-301 has detailed information on how to solve the problem and special LEDs for the severity of the detected errors. GM product (2014 Cadillac, this scanner only outputs hex codes? 1999 Eurovan, not supported

Bought just to read codes. normal P codes which everyone else understands. This scanner gave me $07E8 (that's 2024 in decimal). Couldn't find a link to it anywhere. Took it to dealer. Dealer's scanner has code P0523, that's the oil sensor. Oil sensor. Too bad that Unit does not work for GM products Tested on a 1999 Eurovan Too bad the vehicle is not supported This scanner is pretty junk I'm not sure which vehicles it works on but a terrible product.

Best scanner for the price, lots of extra features

In addition to reading and clearing DTCs, this scanner also provides other useful information such as battery voltage and other live data. The most useful "bonus" feature for me is that it can also test emissions sensors and let you know if your car is ready for state inspection or not. So once you've processed your car and cleared the engine codes, you'll know when it's ready to be examined. My F250 is too old to work with any sensor and the missing information is from it and not the YA301โ€ฆ

Excellent scan tool and value for money

As a professional technician I found the YA301 to be a good fit for its size and a very reasonable price. I've used it on several vehicles from a 2013 Chevy Cruze to a nearly new 2019 Ford F-450 work truck and many different vehicles in between like the latest (2015+) Ford Explorers and Chevy Tahoe. The device is capable of reading and clearing OBD2 trouble codes as well as I/M readiness. It also has a number of other features that you would typically only find in a more expensive scan toolโ€ฆ

For the average Joe

I don't really like cars but thanks to Youtube I've worked on crumbs myself when the projects look easy enough. I've had the check engine light come on intermittently and then go off so thought I'd try this to see if I can both diagnose the problem and help clear the code. As I mentioned, I'm not much of a mechanic so initially my knowledge was pretty limited and it took me a bit of navigation to figure out what was what (even with a manual). It took me a long time to realize that I keptโ€ฆ

These new scanners are value for money. I have a little brother of this scanner and it is very similar to the previous one but with some additional features: This device can draw diagrams and has a special voltage section that automatically shows the voltage of the car. The device has buttons that allow you to go directly to a specific diagnostic type. However, Volkswagen owners are very disappointed that this device does not show the temperature of the DSG fluid. This is necessary for properโ€ฆ
