Size 90/14 is perfect for medium weight fabrics. 5 packs of needles. Each pack contains 5 needles, for a grand total of 25 needles. A very slim needle with a thin shaft that helps make very straight stitches. The shank(top part) of these needles have one flat side and one rounded side. These will fit all "household" models of Brother, Janome, Singer, Pfaff, Bernina, Viking, Elna, Kenmore, Baby Lock, Simplicity, Necchi, White and many others.

Type of review

These are the best needles for high thread count or layered fabrics. I recently sewed a handbag that consists of four layers of fabric, an interlining and low-melting foam. They worked their way through the layers like tissue paper! I use them almost exclusively for my quilts, both sewing and quilting, especially when working with tie-dye.

BEWARE ! (I suspect ALL Revain stock is mislabeled)

As another reviewer said about six months ago, she ordered five packs of five Schmetz Microtex Sharps needles and got a Universal instead. The outer plastic packaging says "Microtex". The number of needles supplied is correct (25 in total). There is a big difference between Microtex Sharps (required for machine sewing tie-dye fabrics) and a general purpose type of needle. Whoever packaged and labeled these Universals as Microtex Sharps made a huge mistake. (Hence the rating is "1".) I'm happy…

A must if you sew fabrics or embroider a lot

What can I say? These are Schmetz Microtex sewing machine needles. They did everything I needed from sewing to basting and topstitching. The reason to buy micrtex is that it can do whatever you want with woven and durable fabrics. For those of you new to sewing you need something precise, especially for topstitching. You can get by with utility needles for sewing, but they may not do what needs to be done on the right side. The owner of a small sewing workshop drew my attention to mixcrotex. I…
