🔲 Scosche HA1579B - ISO Double DIN Dash Kit for 2006-15 Honda Ridgeline in Black: Complete Compatibility & Sleek Design Review

I purchased the Scosche kit following great recommendations from the forums. I have another set (meter) that was tricky to use when installing, was misaligned and caused my dash to stick out at the top right. This set fits great and looks great. I painted it to match my tray and it looks like it belongs to RL. I would recommend this to everyone.

This worked MUCH better than the piece of crap Crutchfield sent me. It actually matches the shape of the dashboard that sits on top. However, I have to say that it doesn't hold the bag underneath forward like it should, and the mounting screw tabs are just little plastic pins instead of holes. It will fail at some point. However, for now, this is the best option for my Ridgeline. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean anything.

I've had this for most of the year and found it awful. It's attached to the main unit with two small plastic tabs; one on each side on the front of the unit. This means that when hitting a bump, the radio can be pushed so hard that it pops out and eventually hits the wiring harness below. Sometimes on a hot day the plastic gets so soft that it comes off without even hitting a bump. I received the dashboard in just a few days. When I opened the kit today, Saturday, I noticed that one of the plastic tabs was broken. The kit looks like it would fit my dash perfectly, so I was disappointed that I couldn't get to work straight away and worried that replacing an item that was damaged might cause problems. I've had it in my truck for about 6 months now. I was hesitant to buy this set at first because of the negative reviews. Unfortunately they are accurate, my stereo comes out very easily. To be clear, it doesn't just fall out of my dash, but if you yank the ipod cord or aux cord out too quickly, the whole stereo will come with it. Updated: Being all plastic reduces the overall quality and durability. The gaps continue to widen as strength is challenged due to weather changes. The weight of the head unit is almost unbearable for the plastic arms and the lid doesn't stay in place. Choices are limited and I'm not sure if the Metra kit is any better, but I almost decided to use the factory brackets and cover the gaps with tape over recommending this kit.
