No more pens. for Car Electronics Accessories

My son "upgraded" my 2009 Highlander Stereo with touchscreen, no buttons. What a great Christmas present. The dashboard now looks smooth and clean. I love it.

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Good Mostly, But...

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Loose fit, awkward opening angle

Turn signal button that fits in this plate will not fit and will come loose when installed in this plate. Likewise. The shape of the double din hole interferes with the operation of the small buttons on the sides of the screen. Also, this kit comes without brackets. In order for the head unit to be flush with this adapter plate, the base bracket must be modified.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Fits perfectly! Highlander 2009

I used this to install a double din radio in my car. This was by far the easiest and best part of the install. It's a little bland, but it fills the space of my 2009 Highlander without any modifications. Positioning the radio height is the trickiest part, but it's just a matter of loosening and repositioning the mounting screws. Once this is squared this is done without any tools whatsoever. Get in, get out.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Functionality

Works as advertised on 2012 Highlander

I used this dash kit on a 2012 Highlander with a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. I simply removed the old head unit, moved the bracket to the new head unit, screwed it back on, moved the factory kill switch assembly to the dash, and put the dash back in place. I had to "trick" the factory mounts into reaching the mounting screws so the motorized surface could move freely.

Pros
  • Easy to install. No special tools are required. Step by step instructions included
Cons
  • Will post later
