This is a wool blanket so don't expect too much. However, be aware that after the first wash, this item sheds millions of small balls of yarn to help fluff it up and get rid of some of the plastic smell. In the laundry, throughout the house, and for heaven's sake don't put that baby in the dryer, you never stop finding little fluffy balls in your laundry room.

I love this comforter and for a while it was well under $10. I bought two to use as emergency blankets in our cars and we loved them so much I ordered four more to give to our kids. They are perfect for soccer games, picnics and even camping. Air out in the sun during the day to remove foreign odors except for a slight smell of wool. We find them perfect, especially for the price.

Surprisingly warm. It's a wool blend, not an itchy, scratchy material. It's a solid material with a thickness that weighs well. i really like it I would like an inner vest in this material for outdoor work as I know it will be very warm and comfortable (a new product maybe?). Good purchase and it arrived as stated. For those who suffer from a cold temper, this can be a good product to balance the cold while sleeping, watching TV or fire on a cold night.

So I bought it for a picnic at Ren Faire last year - it held up well, was a decent umbrella for light rain and the overwhelming smell faded with a bit of rain and shine. It has since been boxed and needed cleaning for this year's Ren Faire so tossed it into a Dryel dryer bag along with some other wool towels and with no wastage or other issues. If you care for it properly and avoid washing it fully at all costs (consider spot cleaning or rain washing at best), you should be fine.

Update - Even a few weeks after receipt the chemical smell is still there. For starters, it's as thin as a washcloth that can't get rid of the formaldehyde smell. Too thin, too finished, I will not buy again. I have several wool blankets that the chemicals can't get rid of. I've tried every method in the reviews and only gotten a heavy fleece blanket for relief. Not worth it, you may have to throw it away as it retains a chemical smell. Poor production, should have thought about that.

This blanket does not have the expected durability. He's pretty thin. But that's what I expected from a cheap duvet. I don't think the measurements are correct as I'm 6ft and it barely covers me. Slight odor but plan to wash on gentle cycle and use Downey fabric softener to hopefully loosen up a bit and get rid of the smell. I plan to order a few more for use in cars.
