Description of Seachem Seagel 500ml: Powerful Solution for Crystal Clear Aquarium Water

BLEND: SeaGel is a blend of MatrixCarbon and PhosGuard and is optimized specifically for aquaria where organic color body and acid removal is required without the introduction of phosphate. DUAL COMPONENTS: MatrixCarbon is an ultra capacity carbon for the removal of organic and color impurities. PhosGuard is a powerful remover of phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids. ENHANCE: Both components are bead shaped for optimum water flow characteristics and penetration. The components enhance each other and are ideal for reef and marine use. USE: SeaGel is ideal for reef and plant aquaria, but it may also be used in freshwater that is not phosphate buffered. DIRECTIONS: Use 250 mL for each 150–225 L (40–60 US gallons). For best results, SeaGel should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. Use in a filter bag such as Seachem’s Zip Bag. Rinse in freshwater before use.

Lighter than GFO and coal

This is a really great way to combine carbon filtration and phosphate removal in one product without having to run a separate pump and reactor. Just follow the instructions and put something in your pocket. Leave this bag in a high flow area. Did!

Works great except for the open jar in the box,

The jar was opened in the box, what a mess. Managed to put the contents in the bag. The score would have been higher if the container had not been opened. Works great, phosphates are where they should be and no smell in the tank.

Seachem offers an incredible line of products. to think about something .

Seachem offers an incredible range of products. Think of them as the Cadillac of what they do. I've been using it for 3 years and will never use anything else on my Fluval filter in a turtle tank. These products are of high quality and have been tried and tested for a long time.

this thing really works!

Bought this to combat algae in my turtle tank, it's very close to the window and algae was a real problem. This material, added to the activated carbon in the filter mats, solved the problem within a few weeks. I will definitely buy again when I run out, the time saving is worth it.

Excellent for fluid bed media.

I specifically installed a filter in the sump to take advantage of liquid filtration. This medium can be easily liquefied due to its uniformly round shape. My water is crystal clear and I'm not concerned about ammonia or nitrite build-up. By liquefying this product, I have extended its use well beyond its normal rate of exhaustion. Glory to Seachem.
