This carrier is so light it floats in water. Pumice is whitish-grey to light gray in color. So when I opened it up to pull out the stones all I got was pumice stone. To my surprise, I received several stones in this 500ml order.

I am a big fan of Seachem products and this is another favorite. I add a new bottle to each canister filter every 3 months and it works great. Like the rest of their products, it's expensive.

This is our most popular filter media. We've never had any issues with tank crashes or anything like that while using them. I also feel like it has helped make my aquarium a little cleaner and none of our fish have gotten sick since we introduced this medium.

Excellent biological media! Bought for our 40 gallon fresh water tank with AquaClear 70 power filter. Compatible with Purigen and foam block in filter. We put it in a mesh bag and then in a filter basket, but the pieces are large enough to be used without a bag. Keeps the water clean and the water parameters where they should be. Definitely recommend!

This review is more specific to a specific product version than to Matrix in general. Firstly, I think Matrix is an amazing product! However, this ad is somewhat misleading. These are very small jars and the product inside is a smaller version of what you would get in a 2 liter jar. The amount you receive is "maybe" enough to fill a hanging filter. Save some money and buy big glasses. Unless you need a small amount.

With every water change I take 50% of the water, shovel the sand and vacuum. As soon as I rebuild everything into a normal aquascape and put it down, ammonia always splatters. I tried blocking the Ammo API but even that didn't work until I found the Seachem Matrix biocarrier. I will keep it in an indoor container overnight and the next day and then replace it with something else like Seachem Malawi for my African cichlids.
