Flimsy and Unreliable Anchor Chain

Based on our own experience, this anchor chain is not worth the investment. Although it is galvanized, the quality of the material is far from impressive. We purchased this product for industrial and scientific purposes, but it failed to live up to expectations. The only pro we can find is that it is affordable, but it is definitely not worth the risk of using it in challenging conditions. Overall, we would not recommend this chain due to its flimsy and unreliable performance.

Pros
  • Durable and resistant to rust due to its galvanized material.
Cons
  • Heavier than other types of anchor chains, which can add significant weight to your boat and affect its performance.

It helps a set

The anchor has been in the water a few times with no problems. Seems to be a good set even with my little sand anchor on the big Columbia below Bonneville. I ran the ground wire all the way through the stud and wrapped it around so it couldn't come loose. My father almost lost his anchor because he didn't. Just because you've used pliers on a bolt doesn't mean it won't loosen over time.

Pros
  • Working load: 1250 pounds
Cons
  • It's hard to remember but it was

Does the job: loop chains

This chain, with two clips on each end, is used to attach my "long rope" to another tree or stump when I need to make sure the tree , which I am felling, falls in the intended direction when the question arises due to the profuse growth of a branch or the need to drag a fallen log. Quality looks good and both clevis studs are easy to turn by hand right out of the box without the need for cleaning or threading and so far have not bent or twisted under load.

Pros
  • Increases holding power and abrasion resistance
Cons
  • Expensive
