The doc worked great. One Big Flaw

While this docking station worked great, it has one big flaw that I don't think Seagate has overlooked. The docking station connects to your laptop via USB-c and recognizes all devices connected to the docking station, including the included 4TB storage drive. The main disadvantage is that the laptop does not charge. A separate USB-c charging source or your laptop's power bank is required for charging. What a miss! Other docking stations that connect to laptops via USB-c will also charge.

Worked well once, found out or something

Plenty of storage space for things like video editing, but peripherals don't work properly when connected to a hub. There was a strange issue where my computer wouldn't turn off when a drive was connected. Then after a few days the device just wouldn't turn on anymore. A power cord may have failed, but Seagate didn't replace it even though I bought it just a week earlier. Have a WD Passport instead.

What a great disappointment this document is.

First, the thing is so loud. I would never have bought this if I knew I listen to the recording of the disc all the time. LEDs are good but not required. The software seems light enough and works well with multiple monitors. Overall, its VOLUME and hard 4TD driver really make this thing a terrible thing. Make a new one without 4TD PLATTER DRIVE or some in 2020 with an SSD. This is a big mistake. I'm sending this junk back to Seagate.

Won't reconnect after restarting computer

Pros - Lots of memory. - The option for m.2 is amazing! - And the port selection is excellent. RBG lighting for those in it Cons - Has a major firmware update right out of the box - Doesn't reconnect every time. A simple Windows update and nothing. You have to sit there, unplug the USB 3 cable and plug it back in - the cost is still high. - I've bought docking stations for less than $100 and had fewer problems. The result - great potential for poor performance. Avoid. If I could return it I…

Good hardware, slight setup issues with additional displays

I gave 4 stars mainly due to minor setup issues and not enough inputs for different monitors. He really could have used the extra inputs for HDMI and T3 for more flexibility in display placement. You need a DisplayPort compatible monitor if you want to set up dual screens, and if your monitors are outdated you'll have to spend an extra coin to bring them up to standard. I was planning to buy a new monitor with the laptop so I made sure to get a DP compatible monitor. Doesn't seem to work well…

Excellent comfort and looks; at a fair price.

Value for money? A good docking station can cost $100-$125, while a good 4TB hard drive can cost $150. It brings the two together, adding m.2 capabilities and a fluid interface. Worth for me I would say. It tidies up my desk, turns my laptop into an awesome gaming station, and is also super easy to take with you, as it just plugs into a power source and another cable. The mechanical keyboard, my monitor's USB hub (so it can communicate with my laptop), my mouse, and my ethernet are all…

Great in theory - not in practice with M1 Machine

Pros: built-in 4TB hard drive, fast NVMe slot (1500 reads, 2400 writes), good cooling, Thunderbolt Skip through, USB ports are plentiful and Displayport. This thing has all the ports, bells and whistles you could want in a hub. Cons: very noisy. The device can get very hot and there is no way to control the built-in fans. The hard drive is also very loud. On MacOS, you can mitigate this somewhat by unmounting the drive. I've also encountered various errors and kernel panic attacks occurring…

  • Unbelievable price
