Good product for me, no problems at all.

ST500LT012-9WS142 Firmware: 0001SDM1 Although the Momentus Thin series is Seagate's cheapest drives, my copy turned out to be quite high quality and durable. The drive has been used as an external drive for a very long time - SMART shows 33.5 months, but it feels like it worked for about 5 years and still works! Used every day, stored files - lots of doc, pdf, jpeg. The parking counter counted 378,982, so the DriveDx diagnostic program in line 193 Load Cycle Count marked 1% with the comment…

Pros
  • 1. Reliability - trouble-free operating time as an external drive 33.5 months with 837 starts and 378982 parkings (according to SMART). 2. Quiet and cold. 3. If desired, you can install it in any laptop, because. disc height 7 mm.
Cons
  • Only one is an obsolete version of SATA second generation with a bandwidth of 3 Gb / s. There are no other shortcomings - the disk that I got is very good.

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

native disk for many Lenovo and Acer laptops. They work in the box and in my laptop and work perfectly fine. For those who complain, as a rule, old laptops where the disk itself is very hot, from heating and carrying (including in sleep mode), they really fail. However, like any other 2.5" discs

I'm satisfied, it's a good purchase.

I bought a laptop in which this model is installed, I don’t see any problems, it’s quiet, it doesn’t heat up. The laptop (and drive) is almost 2 years old.

It's been two years now that it has been working in a home server, almost around the clock, I rarely turn it off. At the moment, it has worked almost 13,000 hours, during this time 16 bad sectors have appeared (judging by SMART; 4 trouble on the main partition + a few on the already unallocated part in the tail of the disk). Not a pleasant situation, in general. Who cares: * SMART data here: , * troubles on the main section:

Pros
  • Quiet, cold
Cons
  • Not suitable for 24/7 use

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

I bought this hard drive to replace a broken drive in my wife's HP laptop. This is basically the same hard drive as the original, but it seems to me that the laptop began to work much faster than on the original drive. I don't know how this is possible but my wife and I were pleased with the outcome of this purchase. We installed Windows 8.1 on it with no problems. The performance of the computer pleases from the moment the disk is installed.

Pros
  • Price.
Cons
  • No.

I cant believe I paid for it, the quality is disgusting.

A classic example of a low-end budget HDD for a laptop in about the same price category. And sometimes manufacturers do not hesitate to put the same in premium products.

Pros
  • Fairly quiet in operation, but this is not uncommon for models at 5400 rpm.
Cons
  • It heats up noticeably. The speeds of the drive did not shine new out of the box, and after a year and a half of the run, everything became much sadder. And this condition worsened from day to day.

A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

Bought in an old working HP laptop to replace a smaller disk. that was also a seagate and now continues to work as an external drive. the drive (along with the laptop) runs mostly 24/7 with a few interruptions. the average working temperature is 40-45 degrees, with rare rises to +60 and drops to +10. the shock sensor counted 15 events, well, it happened . Current Pending Sector / Reallocation Event by zeros. Load/unload cycle count over 500 thousand (when did you have time?). write / read at…

Pros
  • cheap, quiet, fast, low consumption.
Cons
  • thin (7mm versus 9, rather not a drawback, but an appointment. I had to make an additional gasket)

Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

The heat-removing piece of iron in the laptop began to overheat harder, but without much trial I attributed this to an increase in speed and a 5-year-old laptop, the processors of which are no longer dragged, and I bought additional video cards with more memory, therefore, I can say, I advise)) With its pros. It is difficult to find visual advantages in hard mode, I did not check the transfer rate, but everything works quite well. A good deal at a price no worse than others! Got cons: For how…

Second-rate goods, I wont buy any more.

I made a hard drive diagnostic in the Victoria HDD application. At first everything was fine. The hard drive was not very fast anyway, but so far it was fine for me, there was enough speed. But then he began to slow down a lot, everything began to work terribly slowly. I decided to check again in Victoria HDD, it turned out that bad sectors appeared. There were more and more of them, and they appeared faster and faster. As a result, the hard drive died, having lived a few days less before it…

Pros
  • Quiet, thin, doesn't get hot.
Cons
  • Slow. Died after 3 months.

Terrible purchase, only wasted money.

Worked for 3 years, after which he died! Turned it on and the smell of burning went, dismantled the transistor, it cracked, you can see in the photo! Used as a cesspool for mounting!

Pros
  • It doesn't make noise, and that's all!
Cons
  • The write speed floats from 100 mb / s to 10, as for me hot for laptops, short service life!

Expectations were not met, average quality.

I have a Lenovo laptop and my friend, and so Windows has already flown 2 times, but at least I can restore the sectors and it seems to work, but my friend’s laptop is 6 months old and the disk is completely dead. In short, if you don’t have finances, but your hands grow from where you need to buy and don’t forget to check and restore sectors, and if your hands are out of w. and you have money, take something more expensive.

Pros
  • Cheap, quiet from the factory and consumes little electricity
Cons
  • Burns out quickly under medium loads

I bought it in June 2022, at that time it cost me 1200. During the entire time I used my machine, 3 hard drives died: one WD (Western Digital), two HGST (Hitachi), they did not even last a year. This one has been around for a year and a half. I handle the disk carefully, I monitor the temperature, I often do a sector-by-sector check. On s. M.a. R.t passes with a bang, a couple of parameters for 3 points, the rest 4-5. Well, in general, the bandwidth pleases - about 100 megabits / sec. I use a…

Pros
  • Good HDD. Quiet, cool, fast, yet reliable.
Cons
  • No.

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

This disk has been with me for about 3.5 or 4 years - it was bought to replace my old laptop, in which the motherboard died about a year later. After that, an external box was bought, into which this screw migrated. It has been like this until today. In my HP350 G2, my native hitachi began to bend, so it was decided to put a bunch of SSD under the system and a new HDD for storage, Hyper X Savage was eventually installed as the first one, but as an HDD, I planned to install WD Black on a…

Pros
  • Cheap, quiet, reasonably reliable
Cons
  • If you do not take into account the price, then this is a low rotation speed and a small amount of buffer
