This 5 TB hard drive was sent in a paper mailbox (without inner protection). (see photo). (Supplied with our latest new shipping option, which I'm trying to avoid.) Gone are the days when they were boxed and padded. As expected, the drive tests on this (see disk with errors). Note: It was cooked at 124 degrees (51 degrees Celsius) during use. It is not reliable in the long run. Hello Seagate - how will this affect your support? Cost if these things are sent in paper mailboxes?

Pros
  • New to my collection

If I could give -0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been using it since it was delivered in March no problems and then when I used it last night it came out of nowhere. Starts beeping. That means it's basically done. Now I can either try to fix it and pray it gets fixed so I can get my files, or Seagate will charge me $550 to have my files restored. What is this guarantee? Your product has stopped working through no fault of my own and I have to pay to have my files restored? I will never buy a Seagate hard…
