Leaking oil seals on the hydraulic cylinder were replaced. This product came with no instructions; but I have experience replacing them before.

Used Sea Star user manual for installation, line cleaning and filling. The extra holes on the end made it easier to align the wrench in tight spaces on the left side of the Mercury 175. Clearance on the right side wasn't an issue.

it stopped all leaks... I had a small leak with my hydraulic fluid. the seal kit is a very good product, as described, now the hydraulic steering is ok. The replacement was easy, it only took an hour even though I'm not a mechanic. And it's a lot cheaper than taking the boat to the dealer or garage.

I bought them and installed them myself. I had a mechanical prime and bleed the system and after using the boat the new seals were leaking again. I ordered new seals, this time Seastar from Revain, and replaced them. These fakes lacked a hole that was meant to be plugged. I would go back but my window has expired and I can't afford them and the cost of a system upgrade.

I had a leak and bought these gaskets for my starfish. The seals fit well, there were no leaks. After about a month, I noticed that my steering wheel was becoming harder and harder to turn. I took the boat to the mechanic and he told me the seals were wrong. I compare it to my starfish number but he said he's never seen green seals for that specific purpose. $250 later for installing new Sea Star seals, hydraulic fluid and labor. I think OEM parts are better than no names.

I couldn't believe how quickly I received the item - ordered on Sunday and received on Monday. Not an easy repair when the engine is old - corrosion can be a tricky problem. If all the screws are like new, no problem. Excellent price. The end caps turned out to be missing o-rings and I had to disassemble them again and replace the end caps with a kit with gaskets, this seller refunded my money but not my time and hassle. I bought a new set for $35 more but they came with o-rings.

These seals are NOT original manufacturer specifications. I have a Seastar HC5345 steering cylinder and as stated they were the correct replacement seals. The end caps were very difficult to put on the shaft (without damaging the shaft or the seals). Once on the shaft it was difficult to slide them into position to screw them in. With both deployed and the system fully bled with the Junior blowdown pump, the steering system was ridiculously tight, required pressure on the wheel to get the…
