Sealing Tuf Tite Polylok Septic 16 Review

Cool stuff. Required for installation of Tuf-Tite products. The seals are crazy and easy to apply. But it sticks to everything, so be careful what you touch with this material. Sticks to grass, leaves, dirt. And you're not going to take those things off your sealing rope. Just break off the dirty piece and start with a clean one.

Good for sealing a lid, but one roll will do more than one lid. The rope is too thick to fit in the seal. It's like rope sealant, so you can "roll" it thinner. I sealed 2 lids and didn't even use half of a roll. I wish I had known that before ordering 2 rolls.

Ideal for sealing Tuf-Tite riser extensions. The "rope" fits perfectly into the groove of the extension. However, the material is very sticky and you will need a solvent to wash your hands. It was about $7 at the local store but they were out of stock. So I paid $19 for it, which is essentially $7 + $12 for so-called "free" Prime shipping.

Item arrived on time. Just long enough to fit 4 24" risers or Tuf-tite adapters in the groove. The fit for this application was perfect. However, I would not recommend this product for the transition ring bottom seal to speak of a concrete tank. or concrete ring. It's just too narrow and the base of the ring is too wide. You will need to purchase a 3/4 inch to 1 inch diameter butyl rubber rope used to caulk concrete pipe rings to ensure a proper seal.

I received this product to seal our hatch extension in a small septic tank. It's sticky on both sides and once installed, NOTHING moves or leaks. Sticking to hard plastic was easy, and what wasn't needed was easy to cut off. We saved the remaining ice rope for future projects. I think the price is fair, you get a decent deal.
