In general, I was dissatisfied with the quality of this product. No matter how I position the foam gasket, it just doesn't stay watertight. The lid itself appears to be crooked or perhaps twisted. Nevertheless, it is not a quality product.

Good quality. Make sure if you are replacing an old one, use the old screw to install this new cover. it is already sewn. Very easy to install. The only comment is that the actual connector covers that lift don't stay up when you lift them. It would be more profitable and convenient.

This is cast aluminum. Sturdy with reasonable spring force - closes securely but doesn't require gorilla strength to open. UL listed. Wrong seal but for flush installation. Instead of cutouts for a duplex outlet, the slots in the foam padding are for the back of a non-supplied electrical box. You CAN make cutouts for the outlet, but I decided to make my own out of 1/16" thick sheet of butyl rubber. See photo.

Gasket arrived with crumpled corners. I had to gently push the seal out with a heavy book overnight. The gasket size is almost exactly the size of the exhaust plate. Therefore, during installation, care had to be taken to ensure that the base plate fits into the seal. I used a dab of inner and outer silicone sealant to secure the gasket to the sphere. So a good price is around $6, but a little more care was needed during installation.

I ordered this to replace a 30 year old cover that was corroded. It was one of those jobs that takes forever, but I was happy to finally replace the old cover with the new one.
