I have these clips to mount a standard size pool brush post vertically to an outside wall next to the pool (I used 4 connectors). A few of them work great, insert securely and pull out easily. The material is strong enough to hold my pool frame in place but malleable enough to compress for a little extra tension.

This product is designed for heavy-duty applications. I installed them on the back rail of my pontoon to avoid interfering with the boat hook. Let me tell you they are strong! I'm not afraid that the rod will fall out. They will scratch what they're holding though, but since my bar is aluminum I don't care. I need to "wrap" the rod in a holder to make it easier.
