To achieve this effect, I had to pull my shorts up to my chest instead of unflatteringly folding them. The bottom of the legs are cut off just above the knee and I hate those shorts. I call them rip-offs because you could just buy them ankle-deep. I give them 👎👎. I'm not happy and will throw them away on the way to work.
