Started out with a digital hour meter with RPM's and a bunch of other stuff I would never use. And it needed batteries that had to be replaced every time I used the generator to use it, which is a couple of times a year. Complete garbage. That's easy. It is powered by the generator itself, no frills just the exact hours my generator is running. I just need to keep track of hours for maintenance so this simple hour meter works fantastic.

I bought this to keep up with the clock on a recently rebuilt outboard to allow it to break in properly. So far so good, although the engine has only been running for 2 hours. The counter immediately flew. Others have complained that he has a loud tic. I dont know. It can be heard before starting the engine. No big deal to me. I needed a way to estimate fuel oil usage without having to go outside and submerge the tank(s) (one has a gauge but it's not very good). Since my oven uses a 1 gallon per hour nozzle, it would help me keep track of the hours that the burner was on.
