I needed a reliable way to keep the room safe from anyone entering at night. I've tried everything. I saw something similar at a friend's and chose this one because it had a siren if security was breached. The siren was loud enough to wake everyone in the house. It worked fantastically.

I have a similar safety bar from another company but it doesn't have an alarm connected to it. Thought I would add this for another home because it has an alarm and I love my original security bar. I didn't pay attention to the dimensions of this protective bar. It's much thinner and squishier. I wouldn't have bought it if I had seen it in the store.

Item was delivered without alarm, alarm replacement requested, alarm replacement announced, manufacturer called, problem with missing part explained, alarm assured, new unit delivered instead. , without information about the return of the old device, I just wanted to replace the alarm because it is too late to return the old device, now I have been charged again for the purchase. Used for an entry door that feels underpowered. The entrance is on the side in a niche so no one can see the intruder. The siren volume is loud and should wake up any sleeper. Very sensitive and often triggered during thunderstorms or strong winds; however, it would have been better if it had happened than the anxiety I felt when I was home alone at night. This is a great device that can act as a warning sign to anyone attempting to enter your home. The construction is very solid and the assembly is very easy. My family loves being able to turn the device on and off with two buttons and we have them and all the major hotspots installed. We've had other doorstops in the past, but this particular device has an alarm that's perfect for the home. It also has additional end stops for use while driving for use in sliding doors. Love them they are great only problem is the alarm which doesn't fully tighten to the pole it stays in one place but can be easily moved up and down , but that's it the rest was great. Installation was easy, just had a bit of trouble getting the battery into the alarm but I figured it out pretty quickly so wish there were some more pics of how to install the battery and put it into the alarm so that I can tighten the alarm . so it stays in the same place. I received this today because we have a house in Florida that we are renting and it only has one lock on the front door that works. Although it is a latch, it adds another security measure.
