I don't know, maybe I just don't understand. They're a bit stiffer than a regular pair of shoes, but I just don't feel like they protect my feet any more than a pair of heels or hiking boots. I don't really like pointy fingers and they're uncomfortable when you really need to go somewhere.

these shoes are very well made with excellent materials and workmanship and it is quite obvious that with good care they will last a long time. However, lest the media notice hitting a pressure point on my ankle, I'm not sure yet if they just need to be broken in or not, but as long as I'm not walking very far in them a shoe that's clearly not a hiking shoe, they are great!

This shoe has a serious design flaw as the shifter after a few weeks of use destroys the laces making the left boot much looser than the right. I'm not even sure if it's safe. Edit: A month has passed and the boots are completely unusable. The left shoelace fell off and the velcro is not enough to keep the boot on the foot. I risk my life riding with a boot that could fall off at any moment.

I love how the Alpinestars Sector Men's Shoe hugs my feet and feels like it's barely legible. I wear them when riding my motorcycle. They don't feel bulky in the sense that the way they're made makes it easier for me to change gears when I'm on the go compared to some other brands of shoes. I would also like to mention that I love the Velcro that helps keep my laces in place and I don't have to worry about them flying all over the place or possibly getting stuck between the chains.

Ideal for well-protected shoes. They're a bit stiff at first, but after they broke after just a few days, they feel great. So far they seem very durable and well built, I haven't had a chance to try them in the rain as I live in the desert, but if the situation arises I think they should be pretty durable in terms of waterproofing without it to be heavily exposed impact.
