Fantastic headset for a fantastic helmet.

This Sena SRL is way better than the Sena SMH10-10 I had in my old helmet. FM is excellent (no FM on SMH10-10). Excellent reception. It picks up FM stations, which are usually hard to find in my area. Voice activation is pretty cool too. The sound quality is quite good, but nothing for high-end headphones. Fitting the block into the helmet wasn't difficult, just take your time and use the YouTube videos. The hardest part was putting the cheek pads back on. You need to keep the wires out of theโ€ฆ

Better than 20 but still not great.

Fitted to the new Shoei Neotec 2 helmet Installation was easy and the SRL system fitted perfectly. My previous helmet was the Shoei Air GT which was very quiet and went well with the Sena 20S which I upgraded to. I upgraded speakers in the 1920's by soldering a couple of Thunder Claps into them. This was a huge improvement. Bluetooth integration on BMW bikes isn't the best (my bike is a 2016 K1600GT). Playback from iPod is very good, but poor Bluetooth integration got worse in the 20's. The new

Doesn't last long Electronics

Bought at the end of last ski season (September 2019) to replace an old talker. I bought it mainly because of the clean integration of Neotech 2. I liked it until the end of the season (only ridden a few times after buying it). This year the weather finally turned bad and I took him for the first ride of the season. It worked great initially but had trouble pairing when it was ready to go home. I accidentally pressed center and plus while trying to hold center to bring up the configurationโ€ฆ

I love it - great system!

I tried a Bluetooth communicator 10 years ago, I was not impressed. I was recently talking to a friend who has a Sena Communicator and he told me how much he likes it. After searching a little more I found that my helmet (Neotec II) was designed to work with this communicator. Installation is easy - we recommend watching the available installation videos. After I installed it, it was easy to use. It connects to my phone with no problems. I like the ability to make calls when needed (althoughโ€ฆ

Very good. on electronics

Cons - the microphone interferes with the chin curtain when the lid is closed, so the microphone is under the chin curtain. So I have to hold the mic to my nose, close the lid, open the visor, then press the mic to my mouth, so opening and closing the modular part a lot is annoying. The microphone should be on the part that opens, I need to change it. Just extend the cables and mount the microphone accordingly. The charging port is in a bad place, I have to let the back of the helmet hang offโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • There are nuances

SENA did not test this on drivers prior to release.

Advantages: fits exactly on the helmet. Relatively inconspicuous. Ease of installation. Cons: I've used the SRL for about 5,000 miles now. My biggest gripe is that it takes a long three-second press of the center button to activate Siri. My previous 20S had a dedicated button that you could just press and activate the phone. It was great but no luck with SRL. God forbid you press the wrong button as you will call your last dialed number. The next big issue for me is that the SRL won't chargeโ€ฆ

Getting old, but great fit.

I've had it for a few months now and use it every day for a 40 minute commute to work plus any other commutes I make. I considered using a different headset but not because of the fit. The Sena SRL lacks many of the features that modern headsets have. You would think Sena and Shoei would think more forward for a high-end helmet. Pros: 1. Fits - it fits very well on the helmet. 2. Fast connection to the phone. Cons: 1. Based on older Sena technology. There is no grid option to connect to otherโ€ฆ
