I've used these gems to decorate paintings and they worked great. I like that a hook is already attached to it, very handy. The bark is a bit dry and will flake and leave powder marks, but for the price and convenience, no complaints here!

After using them as decorations this year I was so disappointed. I took them on purpose because they advertised that they would not crack. Of the 24 I have, 11 are hacked. I can still use them but it was a disappointment. Some of the screws came loose and I had to find another way to attach the rope. It just didn't look that good.

**UPDATE see my pictures, almost ALL my word discs are torn where the seller placed the grommets. I've put so much work into it that I'm very frustrated. I'll try removing the grommets to see if the rest can be left crack free. 😭WOW! These are the best cut wood jewelry pieces I have ever found! And believe me, I've tried them all. So smooth and strong and out of 20 I only had to tighten one eye bolt which is unheard of! I can't be happier with my results.

I bought 2 packs of these (40 total) - when they arrived they seemed good but when I got them ready to decorate they started to crack. First a few here and there, then I took them internally and after 2 days about 20+ they all snapped along the hinges. The seller then warned against exposing it to sunlight or moisture, saying that cracking is to be expected as it is natural wood, but this is not practical if you plan to display/sell it once varnished.
