Great sounding live guitar amp mic

I used this mic as a boom mic in front of my guitar amp at a concert last year. It sounds great. It doesn't spoil the sound and even improves it I think.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Exchange available

e609 Microphone: Microphones and Accessories

I use 2 of these mics on floor toms and they record clean and clear. Very good lateral deflection allowing leakage from other barrels. I have 5 Sennheiser microphones and I always use them while recording.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • New Competitors

Near the cabin. No additional microphone stand required!

Great mic for guitar amps/cabinets. I use it to keep our electric guitar amp's sound low and then hook it up to a mic so our stage volume is much lower so he still gets all the volume he needs through the mixer and his aux Send to his IEM gets.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Repair

HAS A NAME, BUT.

I expected more from them, I like CAD 411, it's cheaper than shure sm58 or 57 just cuter, def. cuter than these and i think you will be fooled about the sound if you use a good preamp. You will judge the preamp's ability to make it sound good.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Hard to say

I love this mic for loud guitar!

Very easy to use and was able to get some BIG guitar tones from this little guy. My Orange 2x12 ran pretty loud with lots of distortion and feedback very well. Was able to record without ambient noise and nearby bands rehearsing like a champ. Best microphone purchase I've made in a long time. Definitely warmer than my SM57.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Protection

I prefer the SM57

I've been using the SM-57 on an electric guitar amp mic for a while and while they're great, extremely versatile mics, I've always felt that my tone was a bit sounds nasal/overdriven and very sensitive Microphone placement on speaker . So I decided to give it a try. Much airier/natural sounding amp to my ears, and it sounds pretty much the same no matter where you put the mic. This review isn't an attack on the SM-57 (there's a reason they're pretty much the standard), but to me and my ears…

Pretty good, similar to SM57

Using a Fender Blues Jr amp, I compared the tonal response between the e609 and the Shure SM57. The e609 has slightly higher mids and better humbucking quality, but the SM57 picks up a wide range of frequencies, especially for cleaner guitar tones, so it adds a bit of fullness to the sound. However, the ease of use of the e609 with the amp (just hang it up top; I use velcro to secure it) is a plus. The biggest con I've found is that I don't get very much signal when recording through the…
