Serfas RX Cruiser Bike Seat – CR-RXL Review

I was looking for a more comfortable bike seat and when I looked at the Serfas RX Cruise Seat in the Pro Shop I was told that a comfortable seat of this size would be too wide for my road bike and that it would rub against the inside of my thighs. As it turned out, this is not the case at all, the seat is very comfortable and does not interfere, and I highly recommend this seat to all drivers.

This seat offers AMAZING comfort and looks great! I recently replaced my 10 year old bike with a new bike. After a few miles, I realized that the new bike's seat wasn't made for commuting. For some reason, bike manufacturers believe that when you ride a bike, you should sit on your rectum, not your back. The original seat also had very little padding, making it more uncomfortable. The seat I bought is wide enough to support your back and has just the right amount of padding. It's also very well built.

The design is a great idea, definitely relieves the middle part of the body, it works very well in that regard. The seat is very well made. My issue is that the seat is deceptively smaller than it looks in the picture. It's not a big 12" wide cruise seat, more like 8" or 9" wide, something of a medium size. This seat is very comfortable. I wear padded cycling shorts for extra comfort. I'm overweight, so almost all bike seats are uncomfortable for me. You'd think cycling would make me lose weight, but this summer I only lost 4 pounds. I should have traveled more often. Buying accessories for the bike – you get two out of three: strong, light, cheap. Pick which two, right? So this seat is relatively cheap and strong, but not light. This comes in handy, especially when you really need to relieve your buttocks and back. It's one of the few gel seats that doesn't compromise performance in terms of bike control etc either. This is a good quality product. It made my tailbone pain more bearable but didn't completely go away. The saddle puts pressure on the sit bones (my old saddle put pressure on the tailbone but not the sit bones). I don't know yet if this is because I have to get used to cycling or if there is actually a saddle that fits perfectly and pain-free from day one. This is a great seat. My buttocks are sensitive. I've researched and bought way too many places to find solace. Gel is a waste of time and money. There are several weird/exotic seat designs, some of which are much more expensive.
