Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ DTECH FTDI USB to TTL Serial 3.3V Adapter Cable FT232RL Chip 6ft, Black - TX RX Signal 3 Pin 0.1 inch Pitch Female Socket - Compatible with Windows 10 8 7 Linux MAC OS

6 ft USB to TTL serial adapter (with 3 pin 0.1โ€ pitch female header socket) connects devices with 3.3 V logic level UART signals interface to a laptop via USB port. A genuine FT232RL chip module is housed in USB 2.0 type A male terminal for wider compatibility and supports reliable data transfer rates. 6 feet FTDI USB to TTL serial cable (3 way output flying leads ) provides access to UART (transmit) Tx, (receive) Rx and GND. FTDI chipset on the PCB board has configurable internal EEPROM and 3.3V UART signals can be individually inverted by configuring the EEPROM. 3V3 TTL to USB converter cord is compatible with Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7 (32, 64-bit), 2008/XP/Vista/CE, Mac OS, Linux 2.4 and greater; ideal USB 2.0 debug cord for Vendor ID re-write, router, GPS, set top box, transmitter, flash firmware on hard drive, etc.

Good FTDI Based Serial Cable

This cable works great. I always choose FTDI based cables because I've had problems with Prolific based cables in the past. The cable itself is pretty thin. Three connectors deliver the signals I need (TX, RX, GND) without interference from those I don't need. I use it on Windows 10 with no problems.

Pros
  • 1.8m USB to TTL Serial Adapter (with 3 pin female with 0.1 inch pitch) connects 3.3V UART signal interface devices through USB port to a laptop
Cons
  • Doubtful

115200 baud reliability between RPi and MacOS/Linux/Windows

No driver required for Mac OS and Ubuntu. On Windows 10 I had to download and install the FTDI VCP driver. The build seems acceptable for an environment where the computer/device is mostly untouched, but the plastic casing and thin wires can't withstand frequent plugging and unplugging or flexing. Works well for serial booting/debugging a bare metal Raspberry Pi with GDB that doesn't need RTS/CTS. Reliable at default speed 115200 (other speeds not tried). Don't forget to connect RXD <- TXDโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 3V3 TTL to USB Adapter Cable compatible with Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7 (32, 64 bit), 2008/XP/Vista/CE, Mac OS, Linux 2.4 and above; perfect USB 2.0 debug cable to overwrite Vendor ID, Router, GPS, Set Top Box, Transmitter, Hard Drive Firmware etc.
Cons
  • Zero

Works well, no driver required.

wires are a bit small. maybe 26g? The device worked perfectly without drivers on Windows 10. I used it at 115200 baud with no problems. The green wire was RX and the black was normal. I would buy it again if I needed another one.

Pros
  • The original FT232RL chip module is housed in a USB 2.0 Type-A connector for greater compatibility and to maintain reliable data transfer rates.
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Pros
  • Computer Accessories and Peripherals
Cons
