Questionable functionality

Might work for some applications but not for me. Build quality seemed decent. Tested with ICP-DAS M-7000 series data acquisition module. According to ICP-DAS, the voltage between D+ and D- must be 5 VDC. This block measured 0.1 VDC. Extremely unstable call quality.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Doesn't work for most RS-422

The voltage level is too low for RS-422 communication and the output signal is not clear. Other reviews suggest this isn't wired correctly, and it probably is. Went back and bought another FTDI based RS-422 cable and it worked great. Pay a few bucks more for a better cable.

Good adapter for the price

I have used this product to connect to a Spectrum (Omneon) video server over VDCP/Louth (RS-422 full duplex) with no problems. The device was easy to set up (install drivers from the included CD, plug in the cables) and the pinout is straightforward. The top 5 pins (from left to right): Ground, RX-, RX+, Tx-, TX+. I would definitely buy another one.

No drama, works perfectly

Even without installing the supplied drivers on the disk, this device was recognized by my computer, the drivers were installed and it worked perfectly straight away. Love the fact that it has a long USB cable attached so I don't have to worry about the stress of the device banging into my port. I also like the fact that this device has both screw terminals and a DB9 connector, which adds to its versatility. The communication lights on it to let me know something is going on are nice and bright

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • there are nuances

junk and a waste of time.

Not working. I just spent 10 hours trying to find an error reading data from a controller with this device. I resorted to setting up the oscilloscope and directly observed the data coming from the controller. This is fully compliant with RS-485 specifications, but this device does not show "flicker" in the received data. I give him low stars because his support is next to impossible. The manual I found was in a combination of Chinese and English in a barely understandable Word document. Iโ€ฆ
