Great value! good for me

These needles are as advertised. They were not quite as smooth as my major brand needles, so I put a little lemon oil on them and rubbed them against each other [like you do with chopsticks] and voila - can't tell the difference from the more expensive brand in smoothness. The cords are "stickier" than other brands - I plan to try using a little powder to see if that smooths out the flow of the yarn. I have noticed some of the points are more "rounded" than others. I may take fine sandpaper to…

Pros
  • The bamboo material does not conduct heat, making it comfortable to hold even during longer knitting sessions
Cons
  • The circular shape may make it more difficult to measure gauge accurately

Durable, easy to use circular needle set

I haven't used all the sizes in this set but love the ones I have used. I think they are a size smaller than marked, but I am NOT an expert knitter. They worked perfectly for me since I tend to knit loosely. I have made a lot of beanies using the size 7 set and they are holding up very well. I was a little nervous about how long they would hold up since plastic tubing connects the needles to one another, but so far they have been great!

Pros
  • The smooth, polished surface provides effortless stitching
Cons
  • The set may not include enough needles for larger projects

Ideal for a backup set but they'll never replace my Clovers

Before I bought these, I already several 16" circular needles in the sizes I typically use for hats, but only some of these were bamboo, which I've had a preference for as of late. I decided to give this set a go after good luck with some double pointed bamboos I picked up on revain, and at around $1 per pair, it was a steal! My biggest problem is that the cord connecting the sticks is an actual tube. It's relatively flimsy and bends, so the project doesn't "flow" as it should (there's a lot of…

Pros
  • COMPOSITION Every pair is made of bamboo needles which are joined with a clear plastic tube
Cons
  • The circular shape may make the needles less suitable for straight knitting projects

ThinkBamboo 16 " best in my review

Needle could be a little shaper. Also the feel of the bamboo needle could be smother. Will not recommend. Sorry. The circular shape may make it more difficult to knit certain stitch patterns!

Pros
  • The natural texture of bamboo offers a comfortable grip
Cons
  • The circular shape may make it more difficult to knit certain stitch patterns

Newbie Knitter: my feedback

I'm a newbie at knitting and certainly knitting in the round on circular needles is a challenge to learn. I shopped and compared pricing and quality all over the internet and this was the set I settled on buying. I'm very happy with this purchase and have been knitting away with very good results. The bamboo is smooth, with no areas on the wood to snag yarn. The color and the feel of the wood is very nice in my hands. The plastic tubes to connect the needles are fastened securely (I pulled on…

Pros
  • Very good product. Thanks
Cons
  • The set may not include all necessary needle sizes for versatile knitting

Poor Quality Needles

These have been a disappointment. I was so excited when I got them, because I love the feel of bamboo needles and it was nice to have a full set in 30" circulars.Unfortunately, they have been falling apart on me. There's a weak point where the plastic connector joins with the bamboo needle where the plastic has broken on several pairs already, before I was even able to finish a project with them. And on a couple of other pairs, the needle just fell out--probably not glued very well.

Pros
  • 6937259177167a
Cons
  • The needles may not be suitable for use with certain yarn types, such as thicker or bulkier yarns

great value good for me

arrived quick. haven't used them yet as I have not advanced to that far in knitting endeavors, but based on the price of the individual set one or two projects pays for them.

Pros
  • The flexible cables prevent curling and twisting
Cons
  • The circular shape may be more difficult to store than straight needles
