This is where Seymour really outdid himself. Decided to replace the handle on my little hammer and hell the hickory is really going to triumph over what came before. I also really like the wedge that comes with it. Really great value.
I needed a replacement hammer handle that was over 100 years old with a custom sized hole for the handle. This one was as close as I could get. About 15 minute serving and it fits well. quality wood.
I ordered 2 of these because none of the stores I live at have them. I'm glad I did because one had a key cutout and the other didn't. Poor quality control by the manufacturer as well as Revain shipping the product who does not inspect anything prior to storage or shipping.
Pros
High marks for support and durability from testers
First of all it's a nice little walnut handle. The set included a metal wedge. According to the item description, it is an 8-12 oz hammer. I don't think so. The handle is too flimsy and too small for anything larger than an 8oz ball stop hammer head. I have attached some photos for your reference. This pen is on the right in my photos. I've included a 12oz ball-point hammer head and a different, more precise handle in the photo. As you can see from the photos, this grip is too thin on the neckโฆ
The product met my expectations with a top to bottom vertical wood grain grip for durability. after first cutting off the old block of wood to make it easier to remove the old wood stump. For the new replacement pin insert, I used sandpaper to shave/shape/size the wood end of the insert to fit the hole in the metal hammer head. This was followed by a solid groove for a nice fit with extra wood length and then clipped. Finally, at the end of the task, the supplied "new wedge" was driven in withโฆ

The product met my expectations with a handle with a top to bottom vertical wood grain pattern for added stability. To insert the new handle, I decided to use a "lightweight" propane torch - made from my own wooden handle after first cutting off the old log to make it easier to remove the old wooden "stump". hammerhead hole. This was followed by a solid groove for a nice fit with extra wood length and then clipped. Finally, at the end of the task, the "new wedgeโ supplied was hammered in withโฆ
