I only had this collar for 3 months and it broke. Thankfully, that happened in my backyard, not while walking my dog outside. This collar is not strong enough or strong enough for a large dog. I have a gold lab mix. I can't give a high rating based on my experience.

To be honest I don't know the quality of the product, I guess it's pretty good. My problem is that I ordered a 16" for my German Shepherd and they gave me a 14" which doesn't even fit my boxer shorts with a 14" neck. I wasn't prepared for the chain either is very thin, I expected it to be a bit thicker, it looks bigger in the photo.

This choke chain is strong and heavy. However I felt it looked too big and heavy on our Great Dane's long graceful neck so I sent it back and opted for a 3mm chain instead which works great. The large 4mm size was too heavy, making quick corrections difficult. Because the heavier weight of the chain around his neck remained constant during his walks, the chain became more of an ornament than a teaching tool.

Ordered this chain in a larger size to allow for growth. Ideal weight for leash training my Standard Poodle puppy. The chain is removed for safety when he is off the leash. He also wears a regular collar. I'm sure as soon as it gets bigger I'll have to order the next size up. This is a 19 inch string with a thickness of 2.5mm, the longest among string lights. Anything larger than 19 inches is 3mm thick and slightly heavier. That suits my needs exactly.

Lighter weight than the one we replaced but still good quality. I complete the review: The chain worked well. My nervous dog got even more nervous when I started using it so I have no plans to use it again. But it worked great. Perfect for my dog. He weighs 60 pounds but is a gentle little creature and we just needed something to slightly correct him so he wouldn't pull and jump in public as nothing else worked and he clearly understands the word no. He just wants to please the puppy and needs a little behavioral reminder if he gets too excited. Have a good idea of your dog's titration level when you go shopping for these things.
