Flame Retardant Kevlar Thread

I made a mistake writing this review, burned a piece of thread by itself and concluded that it is not truly flame retardant. However, this fiber needs to be sewn into the fabric before testing, it appears to be flame retardant enough. That being said, the tensile strength of this material is still not shiny, less than 5 lbs.

Cons
  • Great Price

Extra strong Kevlar thread

Kevlar thread is very strong. Sometimes it is too strong for the material to be joined. Kevlar can wear down a hole by cutting through material like cloth shoes. Sew a longer seam to distribute the stress area over a larger area. Kevlar is a fantastic material, but you must plan how the repaired product will be used and then plan the repair wisely.

Good quality. - Sewing

I'm a mechanic in the engine shop and we go through welding gloves like crazy. Between welding and working on grinding machines, our gloves withstand heavy loads and high temperatures. I've tried sewing my gloves with it and it's holding up pretty well considering. A few of my boys have also tried making their own gloves and it's a wise investment even if it means they can last a few more months.

First class. All the Way.

Dude, this is some serious hardcase thread. Kevlar as in Kevlar vests and light armor systems. A roll lasts forever. If you need some really hot advice, here it is: DO NOT TRY TO CUT THIS MATERIAL WITH YOUR HANDS LIKE A REGULAR THREAD. If you try, you'll have a new nickname. like "Three Finger Louie". Excellent product Gunny. Hooray!

Garbage! This is a fake cotton thread

I'm so upset it's fake. I am writing another review. In fact, I tested it. It's cotton, it burns well, and I weighed it. I hooked it to a fish scale, 5 lbs. Do not buy this thread, Kevlar thread is stronger than steel. It will cut your hands if you try to break it. This thread is like old crappy denim your grandmother never used. All of these five star reviews are fake. run, run now

As nimble as ordinary sewing thread and strong as fishing line.

Strong and durable product. I'm not sure if the actual content of the yarn is 100% Kevlar or a high percentage combination, but it's very strong. The thread is difficult to cut with standard scissors, but wire scissors are recommended for easier cutting. I use this protector as a binder for braiding scuba paracord onto handles and full paracord whips. Therefore, I need a very strong thread that can withstand severe tension, such as e.g. B. a whip at the ends. I also use this thread to make the…

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Working speed

Contrary to what most reviewers think, the thread I received is easy to cut with scissors and not too difficult to break. Nice soft feel and true to size. Bought some Kevlar line for my personal welding gear. For repairing existing items and sewing a leather cap/beard for my welder's cap. I will report the direct spatter/spark heat resistance of this filament later after using it. However, it burns fairly quickly when exposed to a direct flame. Edit: High quality, stronger than my original…

Good thread, proper breaking point

Good thread. It's not as strong as you'd like, but it works like regular floss and you're getting a lot of it at 4 ounces. Kitchen sink. It is easy to work with, inserts well into a needle or sailing needle, and can be used to mend webbing, nylon bags, pouches and other corduroy fabrics. Breaking strength is about 5 lbs. I did some lifting tests by attaching it to a small wooden handle and then lifting different weights. The breaks were almost always in the middle of the strand at around the 5…

Very Strong Dental Floss

I was expecting it to be about the size of dental floss to be that strong. When it arrived, the size of a regular thread, I laughed to myself, yes that's right, it won't be much. I rolled a little, wrapped it around my fingers and pulled, then harder to cut into the skin. I haven't broken it with my fingers yet. I'm afraid he'll probably cut off a finger or two, at least down to the bone, before he breaks. Now I'm wondering how strong he really is. Somewhere in the description it said the test…
