I was amazed at how quickly it ran with no leaks

Used this to connect a 3/4" copper line coming from home to a 3/4" PVC thread that leads to an irrigation system. I had never used SharkBite before but didn't want to pay a handyman to solder a fitting. I was amazed at how quickly everything went without leaks. I will buy other shark bite jigs when I have more plumbing to do.

Pros
  • fittings
Cons
  • Very expensive

Leaks through the brass wall.

Hello, I have had this valve for about two seasons, feed my outside faucet and turn it off for the winter. I just opened the valve and there is a leak. The valve is not frozen because it is two feet in the heated basement of the home. The leak is NOT at the seams but through the brass wall. The ball's synthetic material appears to seal the leak in the closed position, but when rotated to the on position it allows water to flow through a crack in the brass wall. Must be a manufacturing defect.

Defect - Leak

I installed two of them for water filters. One of them works fine. The other, however, flows through the copper wall! I don't know how that's even possible. To be clear, the leak appears to be at or at no connection point. It flows through the brass wall. It's a slow leak, but a leak nonetheless. Another commenter had the exact same problem. Now I have to buy another one and solder everything and this is a nightmare due to an obvious manufacturing defect. I was a huge Shark Bites fan, but…
