The brush is very soft and not as hard as the previous one. I've had it for a few months now but only started using it this week as my old brush fell apart again. We'll see how long this lasts, but once I get used to the soft bristles of the brush I should be fine. GREAT VALUE I think that even if you can find a brush at your local store you will probably pay a lot more than this one.

I was so impressed that I will probably never buy a pet hairbrush again. A synthetic brush is better in many ways. This brush is fine. Actually it works pretty well. I used to have a natural bristle brush that was much softer. I'm getting used to this brush but will definitely go back to a natural one someday. Differences? Nylon bristles spatter more, so a very light touch must be used when lathering. Not so much, but it's not that comfortable to use. However, a very good price for a well-made and durable brush.
