Shazo Airtight Food Storage Container Review

I bought these to store cereal and other items in to make storage in our cupboards easier. They appear to be airtight and work very well, but almost all of the ones I've received had hairline cracks on the top of the container where the top sits on the container part. Mine can only be an accident as far as the hairline is concerned. Cracks as they have great reviews but unless they get much worse I don't want to complain and worry about replacing them if they work as advertised minus the flaws.

As much as I would like to give an overall rating more than one star, I just CAN'T. Because the security of these containers is deceptive. Yes, they are strong and thick, but they are not FDA approved to hold food, snacks, powders, or liquids. They have recycling number 6 at the bottom. You can put packaged dressings or packaged snacks in, but I wouldn't recommend dry granola, nuts, or lettuce as shown in their photos. I've only had them a few days, already boxed and ready to ship back. Conceptually they are great. They are very sweet. I like the clear plastic and black lids. The only problem is that the lids fit very oddly. Built-in washers easily get stuck in part of the lid when you try to close it. The lids also fill with water when washed. They fit perfectly in my nut storage cupboard. I put 4 cups of almonds in one and could probably add another cup. They are easy to open and close and also have a beautiful appearance. I had a problem with one of the containers. When I took it out of the packaging, I dropped it and it broke. I would like to start by thinking they are well made, feel solid and the container is just the right thickness. Now I want to answer my own questions about this product that I haven't seen answered. The product was in a pack of 6 containers. I was surprised by the size of the box it came with 6 but overall it's a good size for me to store snacks and stuff on my counter. Like many other reviewers, one of my six containers arrived with a large tear down the side. The box the containers come in just isn't strong enough to protect the contents unless there's padding on both sides - but Revain doesn't ship that way; One side of the box always rests against the bottom of the shipping box.
