Very difficult to shift into top gear

The shifter works great for first and second gear but it is difficult to shift into top gear. Unless pushed very hard, the chain will rub when my 7 speed derailleur shifts into the lowest gear.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • No power

Part number is wrong. Shimano FD3030-b

Ordered but the part number is wrong and I received the derailleur soldered to the seat tube. The description mentions soldering but not the part number. I'm not satisfied and will return it if possible.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Will write later

Pull down, not up.

Great derailleur but you have to describe the product correctly, it says Bottom Tension and I have a Top Tension derailleur. It's useless for the bike I planned it for, but now I have an extra one for my other bike. I think there is a good side to everything.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Little things

Excellent front shifter for three gears

I have not seen a good picture but this model is not for a soldered frame. It wraps around the seat tube. It has two adapters for different diameter tubes, and the cable needs to be pulled down to the bottom bracket for it to work. You then slightly align it with the outer ring of the chain before pulling out the mounting spacer.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not satisfied with everything

Worlds over 15 years old 105

My only complaint is there was no screw in the mechanical hole so I had to break the chain and put it back together. Otherwise it's an amazing upgrade from the 15 year old Shimano 105 that was on the bike. Shimano changed the spring tension on the front end in 2009 or so so this unit is significantly easier to shift and definitely worth the minimal investment to upgrade your derailleur.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Negative present

The description sucks but let's see if you can figure it out

Everyone knows derailleurs are hard to find because of all the different permutations. The one I have is a move down, but I needed a move up. Two of the responses to questions or reviews said it was the best device. Easier to believe them than the very poorly written description, but turns out it's a downdraft rather than a double (up or down) pull. I can't use mine. Frustrated with sellers who can't write decent descriptions for things they need.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Some bugs

Seems to be a good product. Failed critically on the first run.

I would give this one star but I don't rule out making a small mistake and installing it wrong. I bought this to replace a broken/worn out Tiagra that was on my old Specialized Allez Sport. Not a newbie to bike maintenance, I followed the factory instructions for the T. After installing it, I tested it and it worked perfectly. The next day, when I made my first long drive with the system installed, I drove about 300 meters, shifted into a higher gear and the entire transmission locked up. When…

Pros
  • Excellent
Cons
  • Will do
