THOSE LAST.- - Brake parts

I keep track of the different parts of the bike every time I service: bearings, bottom bracket, brake pads and/or brake fluid, chain, chainring and cassette so I can tell you These brake pads have traveled a little over 1500 km. since I last replaced them.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Empty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far these are great pads. Make sure you put them in.

Great pads so far. Make sure you put them to bed so they don't make too much noise. They did a great job at the bike park weekend. A little too much initial bite / harder to modulate on normal trails, but it holds up.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good performance but shorter than expected lifespan

Pads fit properly, engage well and provide reasonable modulation. However, the last 2 sets I received wear out surprisingly quickly, less than 500 relatively flat MTB miles. At the same time, the price has increased slightly. I will look for alternatives

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Genuine Shimano Brake Pads

I can't say enough about these Genuine Shimano Brake Pads. They have done a great job and are starting as they should. Very quiet, no squeaks or brake noise and very easy to assemble. The plates make the brakes a bit colder than other pads on the market and I'm definitely sticking with OE as not all aftermarket pads are like that.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Excellent performance and durability

I don't give many 5 star reviews but these pads were exceptional. RT66 rotors (Shimano SLX calipers are also very good and much better than lower end Shimano calipers). The bike is a heavily modified Specialized Crosstrail that I load moderately heavily (plus my own weight of 175 pounds) and ride in Wisconsin, USA year-round (read: four VERY different seasons with ALL the extreme weather conditions). I commute to work through hilly terrain and stop my loaded bike at 50 km/h at the foot of the…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
