Without a doubt the best shoe on the market for the price.

Every detail of the shoe convinced me 100%: weight, stiffness, fit and design. At $200 less than the S-Works equivalent, this is no slouch for the MTB rider who wants to make sure every pedal stroke counts.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Half a Dozen Rides - So Far So Good

Purchased from LBS. Came from using a much more flexible mountain bike shoe. Very stiff, but still walkable (with Time mountain bike spikes). Heel and instep fit like a glove. There is plenty of room in the toe box - which was a must - my old shoes gave me problems with ingrown toenails. Haven't ridden them in wet or hot weather but will update the review (if I can remember). Good product.

Pros
  • Great Product
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good shoes but not for walking

Bought for my wife. Very high quality shoes but we returned them for a MTB equivalent. It's more like an SPD road shoe. The soles are very narrow and walking on anything other than a hard surface will be unstable. If you're a hobby rider who never gets off the bike and only rides the pavement, then these shoes are for you. If you ride gravel where you may need to push your bike or bike pack, get the XC501 MTB shoes.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Some little things

NOT for wide feet

I bought a version of this shoe for wide feet. Maybe the shoes were on, but the lacing is too tight to let my foot through. So it was a waste of time. You would think they would find someone with a wide foot to try the shoe on because no matter how wide the boot is, if you have a wide foot you will not be able to get through the tightening system. What I need is an old school ratchet system that the peloton wears on their shoes. But I can't find it on Revain or any cycling shoe sites. Like…

  • Weight

  • I don't really like it, everything is fine
