🚲 Shimano ST-5703 105 Triple Speed Shift Lever Review

Some shifters come with brake and shifter cables and housing. The kit only includes the gear cable. The shifter works well.

This shifter worked AMAZING! perfectly packaged and right out of the box it worked fine. But then again, isn't that what we all expect?

Replaced the dual Ultegra shifter with the triple 105 as part of a compact to triple shifter. This manipulator works perfectly.

Bought to replace an identical derailleur on my road bike that broke after a crash on the pavement. A fairly simple homemade project to replace them, now it works fine. I could reuse my cables, but if I did it again I'd get new cables at the same time: a bit harder to route the old cable back through the entire sheath, and what not, and relatively low cost. to get new ones.

Shimano doesn't have an 11 speed triplet but this one will do. 11-speed chain. The 10-speed FC-5703 with ST-5703 shifter and FD-5703 front derailleur shifts gears perfectly. The 10-speed chain is slightly wider, so it won't work with 11-speed cassettes. Because the 11-speed chain is slightly narrower, it can be adjusted for perfect shifting.

If you ride the latest generation 105 triple motor road bike, this is the left/front shifter you need. It works as it should. But my god, almost $150 for a shifter? That's ridiculous. And that's Revain's discounted price. I had only ridden my bike about 8,000 miles with the stock shifters when one day the front derailleur seized up completely. The brake still worked, but the big lever didn't move to the right at all, so I got stuck in my small chainring. There are so many tiny, awkward parts…
