A powerful R package for creating interactive web applications

It's easy to use and has a great community behind it. It also supports multiple languages, which is rare in other toolsets. The UI is not as appealing as I would like, but that is probably due to my lack of knowledge of how to make it look better. There are many ways to do things with Shiny, and the documentation could be more thorough. You can customize almost everything about your app, from colors to layout. This gives you complete freedom when designing an app. I have been able to create…

Pros
  • I like the freedom of layout and the freedom to customize app colors, layout, and look as I like
Cons
  • The documentation could be more thorough

Great language used for building web and mobile applications

The flexibility of Shiny is what I like most about this language. It allows me to build any kind of interactive interface. Also, it's very easy to get started with. Sometimes there are some small bugs which can be annoying at times but these are usually solved very quickly by the developers. Try it out! There is no other programming language that lets you build complex apps so easily. You can also use this language for building mobile applications as well. However, there are fewer libraries…

Pros
  • Easy GUI
  • Powerful Data manipulation tools (SQL & R) under Linux environment makes things easier.
  • Open source nature means cost efficiency
  • Great community resources such forums or IRC etc

Very complete web framework for R: Shiny

I like that it is easy to use, understand and can be used in any programming language you want to work with. At least initially it was difficult to install packages or run programs because of dependencies issues but this has been improved recently. It's still not as user friendly than Python but the community around shiny support is very active so hopefully they will get there soon! We are using shiny to create an interactive website where users can submit their data easily and have all…

Pros
  • Easy interface
  • Fast learning curve for people who never worked before R.
  • Ease access through google search engine when searching questions / answers (e g "shinytutorial")
